Do I need a doctor’s prescription to receive physical therapy care?

It depends! Physical therapists in the state of Illinois now have Direct Access (Illinois Physical Therapy Practice Act, Sec 1.2), meaning they are legally able to evaluate and treat without a physician’s order. However, if you’re a Medicare recipient you will still need to see your physician for an order to ensure coverage.

What if I need to cancel my appointment?

Please do your very best to cancel 24 hours in advance of your visit. You may reach out by phone (call or text) to:

847-440-5932

What should I bring to my physical therapy appointment?

Please bring any relevant diagnostic reports (ie: MRI or xray written reports). If you are a runner or a dancer, please bring the shoes that you are currently wearing as well as any orthotics (arch supports) you’ve worn in the past or are currently wearing.

What should I wear for my appointment?

Pilates: comfortable clothing that you can easily move in. If you prefer to wear socks, grip socks make Reformer use easiest and safest.

Physical Therapy: for neck and shoulder injuries, it’s best to wear something that gives me access to both areas. A tank top or sports bra work well. For lower body injuries, please wear or bring shorts with you to the studio.
